We created this spreadsheet to organize the trip of those going to IGLA+ Buenos Aires 2024. Your information on flight connections, lodging, and the events you are participating in helps the team's organization and the travel plans of other participant ORCAs. So, if you are going to IGLA+ 2024, please support your swim team by completing the requested information. Even if you prefer to sit quietly during a flight, since there are no direct flights between Seattle and Buenos Aires, you might like company during the layovers or to share taxi costs. Knowing the events you’ll be participating in will also ensure we'll cheer you on. You can find more information on registering for IGLA+ Buenos Aires 2024 in this document.

Butterfly and Breaststroke Sprint Clinic (10/26) - Snohomish Aquatic Center

Two-time Olympian, Tatiana Lemos de Lima, returns for Part 2 of her SPRINT Clinic series, this time to speed up your short axis strokes, namely butterfly and breaststroke. Tatiana held the Brazilian and South American record in the 100 Free from 2008 to 2015. Since retiring from professional swimming in 2013, she has coached age group swimmers across the U.S. and has presented numerous swim clinics for Masters Swimmers. She is currently Head National Group Coach at Wave Aquatics in Kirkland.
Clinic Details
You spoke and we listened. This clinic will be limited to just 30 sign-ups. And a talented on-deck coach will be specifically assigned to your lane to assist with Tatiana's instruction and provide individualized feedback.
This will be a two hour clinic focusing on improving the efficiency of your butterfly and breaststroke. Be prepared to learn from the best!

Mentor Coach
Tatiana Lemos de Lima is a two-time Olympian from her native country of Brazil. She represented her country in both the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games.
Tatiana also participated in numerous FINA World Championships where she broke both Brazilian National Record and South American Record in the 100m Freestyle several times. At the 2009 LC FINA World Champs in Rome, she qualified for Finals (Top 8 in the world) in the 4x100 Medley Relay. Also at the 2002 SC World Champs in Moscow and the 2012 SC World Champs in Istanbul, she qualified in the 4x100 Free Relay to swim Finals. Tatiana competed in the following FINA World Championships: 1997 Gothenburg, 1998 Perth, 1999 Hong Kong, 2000 Athens, 2002 Moscow, 2003 Barcelona, 2004 Indianapolis, 2009 Rome, 2010 Dubai, 2011 Shanghai, and 2012 Istanbul.
Since retiring from professional swimming in 2013, she has molded and coached many age group swimmers in the U.S. and has presented numerous swim clinics to Masters Swimmers. Tatiana is currently Head National Group Coach at Wave Aquatics in Kirkland.

FACILITY: Competition – Ray Williams Pool: 25 yard, 6 lanes – starting end 12.0 feet deep; turning end 3.5 feet deep. Temp 76-81°F. Warm-up – Don Nakata Pool: two continuous lanes in the 25 yard recreation pool during competition.
Swim Defiance 2024
Bernardo's All Stars is proud to announce the return of the annual Swim Defiance taking place at Owen Beach, in Tacoma, Washington. We welcome back returning swimmers as well as everyone else planning to participate in August for the first time.
2024 Swim Defiance offers a 3K event; participants will receive the following:
Brightly colored custom race cap provided at race check-in. Ability to purchase discounted brightly swim buoy, both required for swim.
FREE post-race celebration with yummy refreshments and fun music
2024 Fat Salmon 3.2 Mile Open Water Swim
WHERE: MADISON PARK BEACH on Lake Washington (1900 43rd Ave E, Seattle WA) - Pre-race check-in and finish line of the swim
COURSE: Point-to-point course will follow the western shore of the lake from I-90 in a straight line marked with buoys. In water start immediately offshore from Day Street Boat Ramp, finish across timing mats on shore at Madison Park Beach; participants will need to ascend 4 stairs at the completion of this race. Water temperatures are typically 67-73 degrees fahrenheit during the summer but can vary significantly; be prepared for a cold swim. See RACE MAP.
RACE-DAY SCHEDULE:
6:00 - 7:00 AM: MANDATORY Check-in
7:05 AM: Pre-Race Meeting - MANDATORY for all swimmers
7:20 AM: Carpool to 3.2-mile start at Day Street Boat Ramp (1402 Lakeside Ave S, Seattle, WA)
8:15 AM: Start 1st wave from Day Street Boat Ramp, swimmers will be sent off in 5 separate waves scheduled every 3 minutes.
LCM Summer Meet Northwest Zone Championship
FACILITY: 8-lane 50-meter pool with 9-ft wide lanes and a water depth range of 9’-10.5’. Continuous warm-up available in 7-lane, 25-yd dive tank. The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1, but as a bulkhead course, is subject to length confirmation. Eligibility of times for World & USMS records and USMS Top 10 will be contingent on verification of bulkhead placement.
PNA Champs
Registration is now open for the 2024 PNA Championship Meet. Meet information and online registration can be found here. Last day to sign up is 4/7. This is a two-day, 25 short course yards meet. It takes place the weekend of April 13-14 and the registration deadline is Sunday, April 7th. It takes place at the famous Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, where past and future Olympians have competed. Cost is $49 for registration plus $2 per individual event.
If you are only considering coming for one day, we encourage you to sign up for events on Saturday the 13th. The ORCA swim team will be reaching out to our sister teams in Portland and Vancouver to have them join us that day for competition and social event afterwards.
